Registration Procedures and Fees

 

1. School/Organization

a) Festival Registration forms are available online at http://laconiachristian.org and must be submitted by May 1st, 2009.

b) A nonrefundable registration fee of $50.00 is due by May 1st, 2009. See note below for more information regarding payment. This fee covers the costs of office-related expenses for the festival.

2. Student

Student Registration Forms are located online at http: //laconiachristian.org and must be completed by the school/organization/or individual coordinator. Use this form to enter the participating students by name and category/medium of project. The form must be completed by the school/organization coordinator and submitted with any category fee(s), additional supplies charge or specialty fee associated with master classes registered for and any food order(s). The category fee covers the cost of awards. Late entries will not be accepted.

3. Individual

Individuals not associated with a school or organization may also participate in the festival. Individuals do not have to pay the School/Organization fee. Individuals should check appropriate boxes on the Festival Registration Form located online at http://laconiachristian.org. Use this form to enter the participant by name and category/medium of project. The form must be completed by the individual and submitted with any category fee(s), additional supplies charge or specialty fee associated with master classes registered for and any food order(s). The category fee covers the cost of awards. Late entries will not be accepted.

4. Master Classes/Workshops

Each registered category participant is entitled to take as many Master classes as their schedule permits. An additional materials or specialty fee may be charged where applicable. Please check the list of master classes for additional fees. Participants must indicate their choice of master classes on their Student/Individual Participation Form. Space may be limited depending on the nature of the class.

Please note: Registration does not guarantee participation in the master class. Seats will be distributed on a first come first-served basis. If the class is full by the time your registration is submitted, any materials or specialty fees received will be refunded. Members of a registered school/organization not submitting in a category may also take master classes. The fee is $10.00 per participant and entitles them to take an unlimited number of master classes during the festival.

Please note: Registration does not guarantee participation in the master class. Seats will be distributed on a first come first-served basis. If the class is full by the time your registration is submitted, any materials or specialty fees received will be refunded. Guests to the festival, not registered under a school/organization or as an individual may also participate in the master classes for a fee of $25.00 per class A materials fee may also apply depending on the class. Please see the list of Master classes for a complete schedule. Guests should complete the Festival registration form and check the appropriate Guest and Master Class only boxes located at http://laconiachritian.org .Space may be limited depending on the nature of the class. Please note: Registration does not guarantee participation in the master class. Seats will be distributed on a first come first-served basis. If the class is full by the time your registration is submitted, any materials or specialty fees received will be refunded.

There will be no registrations for Master classes accepted the day of the festival. All registrations and fees but be submitted by the May 1st, 2009 .

All participants will receive registration confirmation via email. Confirmations will not be mailed.

Please note: Each school or organization should submit one check, made payable to the Laconia Christian School with Lakes Region Arts Festival in the memo field, which includes the school/organization registration fee, category fee(s), any applicable master class materials fees and food orders.


Number of Participants/Projects

The Lakes Region Arts Festival is open to students in grades 5-12 and post secondary adults. A participant may not enter the same category twice except in the visual art category where more than one piece may be submitted accompanied by the appropriate fees. For example a participant cannot enter two dramatic scenes, but may enter one monologue and one scene.


Judging

All entries will be adjudicated by a minimum of 2 qualified judges. All decisions of the judges are final. Awards given are based on the number of entrants registered in any particular category. (Special awards or recognition may be included, depending on the category and is at the discretion of the judges.)


Food

The Lakes Regions Arts Festival will have reasonably priced liquid refreshments and individual snacks for purchase throughout the event. Please see the Festival Registration Form for the prices for Boxed lunches and ticket prices for the late afternoon BBQ. Please check the appropriate box(es) on the Student/Individual/Guest entry forms and submit the total amount along with your entry fees. Food orders are not refundable.
